Wow what a synagogue! Congregation are very welcoming. A real pleasure!
Walked past this gorgeous synagogue with gothic aesthetic and oriental trends façades! It's actually just off from Rue Sainte-Catherine on Rue du Grand-Rabin-Joseph-Cohen. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to enter as it was closed! I still rate this a five star for its history, gorgeous outlook and its representation of the Sephardic community and being one of the largest synagogues in Europe! Such a pity as I read up it's history before I travelled here from Australia! Definitely a national monument worth visiting; perhaps one day when I have a chance to visit Bordeaux again!
ting, too Sadly did not go inside, thus only 4 stars. I was surprised at its size and beauty so it deserves at least 4 stars. Area is interes
